The cookie that Google adds to a user's computer when he/she
clicks on an ad expires in 30 days. This measure, and the fact
that Google uses separate servers for conversion tracking and
search results, protects the user's privacy.
Users who don't wish to
participate in tracking activities can easily not accept this
cookie by setting their Internet browser user preferences. These
users will simply not be included in your conversion tracking
How does Google handle personal
Google is firmly committed to the privacy of our advertisers and
users. While Google does add a cookie to a user's computer when
he/she clicks on an ad, this cookie expires in 30 days, and Google
does not associate a user's search activity with his/her ad click
history. Further, Google does not collect or track personally
identifying information, and does not reveal individual
information to third parties.
Users who do not wish to
participate in tracking activities can easily disable Google's
conversion tracking cookie in their Internet browser's user
preferences settings. These users will not be included in your
conversion tracking statistics.
Will my personal information be
No. The information you provide will only be used by Google, and
only in our efforts to serve you better. We will not share your
personal information, unless required to resolve a charge dispute
or by legal process.
How secure is my information?
We understand that making an advertising purchase online involves
a great deal of trust on your part. We take this trust very
seriously, and make it our highest priority to ensure the security
and confidentiality of the information you provide.
Is conversion tracking secure?
Yes. Google's security standards are stringent; we use data
encryption and secure servers, and do not collect or store
personal information. In addition, only those pages containing the
Google conversion code are tracked.
What is the Conversion Counter?
Conversion Counter is the Yahoo! Search Marketing conversion
tracking tool. Conversion Counter tracks the number of conversions
generated by Yahoo! listings.
How does the Conversion Counter
When an Internet user clicks on one of our listings and arrives at
your Web site, Conversion Counter places a "cookie" on that
visitor's browser. When the visitor reaches our transaction
completion page, Conversion Counter registers a conversion and
ties it to the visitor's previous search. The cookie used by
Conversion Counter is active for 30 days.
Is personal information
collected or shared?
No personal information is collected. We do not share any
information collected by your clicks from an advertisement aside
from a unique id created when clicking the original advertisement.
This is a random tracking number and does not contain any personal
information nor can it be linked to personal information.
